Today's quiz: What's the best visual pun you've ever seen? My vote goes for the one below.
Okay, Linkmeister..
I need help with this one...what am I missing?
A roll is soft.."coal" is hard..
My mind can't see the pun...
....Help.....
I am older than you, "baby"..
I think I am the oldest person on the blogging circuit..
I feel like Ozzy Osbourne..
Doesn't bother me too much around here though. There is so much talent, and I enjoy the read!!
I remember Foghat..
Must have swallowed too much cough medicine when this album came out..hee..hee..
Psst...toxic: it's 'rock and roll'. :)
Posted by: Jen at April 13, 2002 06:25 PMCough medicine, huh?
Posted by: Linkmeister at April 13, 2002 08:41 PMI had to look in the comments to get it too - must be too early in the morning. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;)
Posted by: Shelagh at April 13, 2002 10:23 PMSee, I didn't think of it as rock and roll - I thought well, that's a lump of coal and the other is a bun - so my mind went wandering onto all sorts of random paths...
Posted by: batgrl at April 14, 2002 11:47 AMi so did not get it. i had to read the comments too.
but why does "foghat" define rock and roll. wouldn't zeppelin be better in that capacity?
Posted by: kd at April 14, 2002 09:13 PMoh. I thought it was a rock bun. really.
Posted by: jenny at April 15, 2002 12:42 AMadd me to the coal bun list. I did not think of rock and roll at all.
Posted by: bunny at April 15, 2002 07:04 AMIt is, of course, Rock N'Roll. Nowhere on the album, not even in the liner notes, is the pun mentioned or indicated. I bought the LP back when it first came out in 1973 (2nd album by the group), and I will confess it took a few days to get the point, like most of you. It really is good rock, along the lines of Free and Bad Company.
Posted by: Linkmeister at April 15, 2002 08:25 AMI'll have the one on the right, please. Warmed with butter. A some tea.
