Hawai'i Blog Con etc.

Tomorrow is the first Hawai'i Mini Blog Con!

In other news: Can you spell lousy security? Apparently Ford Motor Co. can't; how else do you explain its loss of a code enabling hackers to steal 13,000 credit reports?

When I lived in Virginia I remember visiting Williamsburg, but not the way it is now portrayed; when I visited, if my memory is accurate, there were no depictions of slavery at all. That's changed.

re: Williamsburg

Funny, I take it for granted that people know about the slavery education program at Williamsburg. We had a curator here, Rex Ellis, who started that program. He was a great mentor for our Asian Pacific American Initiative Committee. Alas, he decided to go back to Williamsburg and shortly after that, we lost our other two mentors (one to the Chicago Historical Society (President) and one to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center). Three upper-level African American historians gone in two years. Ya think they might have disagreed with Larry Small?

Um...I confess ignorance. Who's Larry Small?
