Sad news

Requiescat in pace, Jack Buck. If you're not a sports fan, you may not recognize the name; if you are a sports fan, you know.

Another Federal court rules against the Earl of Ashcroft. Then there's this story about the usefulness (or lack thereof) of citizen hotlines for security tips.

Uh oh. Fortune has named Pyra one of its cool companies of the year. There's even a brief Q&A with Ev. Following on that, suppose Wall Street (or the Sopranos) had blogs?

On the Ashcroft thing...they've apparentl figured out that the way around being constitutionally required to publicize hearings is simply not to have them. Or to charge people with crimes. That determination of "enemy combatant" is a mighty powerful sword to wield....

Cheers

RIP Jack Buck. Damn....Harry Carey, Jack Buck. We have Bill King over here. He's a million years old, but listening to him call a game in the summer makes baseball such a cool sport.
Oh, you have a bold end tag that needs to be added.

You've got Vin Scully down south, too, Hoopty. Don't forget him.
