In his comment on Sunday, Scott pointed me towards a list of cd's; not to be outdone, I created one of my own. It's over there on the right under Books & Music; the music page follows the initial page you see, so scroll down to the right hand corner and click the Music link. (Scott's is much more lengthy and impressive; it's also prettier.)
Creating a table of 32 cd's is one thing; creating a spreadsheet of my approximately 300 vinyl LP collection is quite another!

The idea of doing that is too daunting, though, without some program that can take an ISBN and pull up all the other info. I started doing that with comics (including listing major character appearances), but soon gave up.
However, Tom and I keep separate music databases (for now - we created them before we met each other). My cd count is about 1000 and his is 800+. There's probably about a 6% overlap. I have about 100 more to add and I haven't added the tapes (easily 500+). Records number about 400 for me, 200 for him.
Serious about music? Nah, it's just a hobby. ;)

I think I'm missing about 20-30 CDs in there, somewhere, but I just don't have the time to hunt them down and rip them.
My vinyl collection is nowhere near as expansive as yours, it seems, but small as it is I have no intention of putting in the effort it would take make a public record of my poor taste in music from back then. ;)
Books? Not a chance. No way. Really. I recently boxed up eleven boxes of books for which I no longer had any room. Eleven. That left me, still, with far too many.
An occupational hazard, I suppose....

Links, I try not to think about it, but all the debt I have can probably be attributed to too much spent on music, books, and cocktail paraphernalia. About 8 years ago, an intern calculated that I averaged about 1 cd every 3 days.
Of course, I used to work at a radio station (just before cds became the norm) and did work at a music store for a year (and have friends in the music industry), thus received a LOT of promos.
Sheesh, Scott. Eleven boxes extra! I have about 17-20 boxes of books right now, but that's only because I recently moved and haven't yet bought bookcases (I got rid of the last ones, they'd bent too much under the weight).
