Hairy observation

I've had a mustache continuously for about thirty years. Once during that time, for about three years, I had a full beard. For the past year-and-a-half or so I've had a goatee. At 11:00 am Tuesday morning I shaved off the goatee, keeping the mustache. As of 3:30 pm Wednesday, my mother had not yet noticed I'd cut the thing off.

Batty was talking about crop circles the other day; what should appear in the current issue of Popular Science but an interview with Colin Andrews of Circles Phenomenon Research International.

Cat answers later.

you know, when guys change their facial hair, i usually just get this vague feeling something looks different, sometimes don't notice at all.

Oh, I know...I do it too. "What's different?"

I once played a chump and paid to see Colin Andrews give a talk. He wasn't particularly convincing, telling us that he'd just seen a UFO near the Washington Monument.

Uh, National Airport is just across the river from the Mall area...

My brother had a mustache for a while. My mother didn't like it much but eventually she stopped grumbling. One day, my brother shaved it off. We were all sitting around the dinner table she exclaimed, "What happened to your lip?! How come it's swollen?!" When he told her that he shaved it off, she quietly said, "Oh". :)
