I was voter number 503 at my precinct at 11:05am today; have you done your part?

Yep. Just got home a little while ago. Marched myself down to the elementary school down the road (my polling place), checked every box that reflected my Libertarian/Republican convictions, and received my 'I Voted!' sticker. Yay!!

If you go over to Michele's, you'll learn you were shortchanged (as was I). Some folks over there got punkin pie and chocolate chip cookies. ;)

I was #46,and received no cookies.
Only One of the three voting machines was working.
And the day had just begun......

Well, I did meet a couple of dogs on leashes at the polls, each of whom had nice cardboard red, white and blue collars. Not even a manapua, though.

I was #411 at 5:15 pm at my area. I didn't get a sticker because there was a blind woman voting after me so everyone was helping her. Now I feel really shortchanged. :( I did notice, however, that the school that is our polling place is a really nice school. I've never seen a high school that nice. Of course, my entire high school would have fit within just their main building, so I have lower standards...

I was #293 at 5:15 pm. No sticker. No cookies. Just the satisfaction that I voted AGAINST what I considered the most egregious negative campaigner I've ever seen. And for Ron Kirk. Too bad he didn't win.

Democracy doesn't always work the way we want it to, but at least we get the chance.

I got a sticker, but I don't know what number I was!

And what good did it do? *sigh*

At least Oklahoma will improve on a state level, but that doesn't really warm my heart as much as I'd like it too. :o(
