Weapons of mass distraction

Somebody please explain the cavalier attitude towards looting at nuclear sites described here. The Administration declared Iraq's possession of nuclear WMD as the primary reason for war, but it seems decidedly unworried about the stuff. At the same time Powell is decrying the possibility of North Korea selling weapons-grade materials, the known sites in Iraq are left inadequately patrolled? Is it any wonder its war motives are doubted?

Doubts about the existence of Iraq's WMD will only be furthered by this news:

The group directing all known U.S. search efforts for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is winding down operations without finding proof that President Saddam Hussein kept clandestine stocks of outlawed arms, according to participants.
Um, reminds me of a line from a 1960s song: "What's it all about, Alfie?"

The hypocrisy and negligence are staggering, aren't they?

What? You didn't think securing the oil fields of Kirkuk being top priority over finding our own POW's, just a *liiiiittle* suspicious?

Don't worry, Russia is still reminding us what the occupat... uhm I mean liberation was all about:

Putin: "*poke, poke* So where are the weapons, Georgie?"
Bush: "OW, QUIT IT!!!!"
Blair: "I'd like to talk to you about lifting the sanctions against Iraq"
Putin: "Not talking to you dog-boy, there's still as many WMD's there as *before* the invasion... *poke, poke* So where are the weapons, Georgie?"
Bush: "OW, QUIT IT!!!!"
