Well, how about the Cubs and the Braves?
"If I had the decision-making process,'' Steinbrenner continued, "I'd put the Yankees in the night game. We're the best-known team and that's where we belong."
Steinbrenner thinks about the World Series the way Republicans think about the White House; it's an entitlement.
Aw, don't blame the Yankees for Steinbrenner. He's been a pain in the keister for as long as I can remember and he's better than he used to be. It's part of being a Yankees fan to loathe Steinbrenner.
Posted by: Raye at September 30, 2003 03:38 PMOk, I'll blame them for beating the Dodgers all those years in the 40s and 50s. ;)
Posted by: Linkmeister at September 30, 2003 03:51 PMCan you believe it? I talked with Raye for 45 minutes this evening without gloating even once about the Twins' victory over the damnYankees.
Shows that l'affaire Plame really is serious stuff.
Posted by: N in Seattle at September 30, 2003 10:05 PMHehehe, N.
I ignore Steinbrenner. This is shaping up to be a playoffs I'm actually interested in, too.
Posted by: Scott at October 1, 2003 04:19 AMDamn, N, it's nearly a constitutional duty to gloat (although the better part of valor may be to wait). ;)
Posted by: Linkmeister at October 1, 2003 08:03 AMs'okay. Go ahead and gloat...your opportunities are so infrequent.... ;)
Posted by: Raye at October 1, 2003 08:44 AMRaye, the infrequency is what makes the opportunity so sweet! ;)
Posted by: Linkmeister at October 1, 2003 08:54 AMI kindof liked Steinbrenner when he was on Seinfeld...hee, hee..
