Baa

Three Safeways, three Times Supermarkets, one Foodland, one Yamasin Meat Market. Those are places I've unsuccessfully been to find two lamb racks or a mess of loin chops which my sister wants for her birthday dinner Thursday night. Anybody wanna ship me a sheep?

Update: My sheep came in! Went to Costco (after calling) with a friend who's a member and got 4+ pounds of 1-inch thick loin chops @ $6.99/lb. Yum!

Looks like you've got a problem. Good luck on your search. Or your explanation

I'm blaming the Kiwis.

Ship the sheep on the next sheep ship?

I've only got the one little lamb.

Hi, where are you in London?
Try south london,
Peckham, or Lewisham

or Kingsroad if you are really desparate

I'll call some commissaries for you today (nothing like a morning well spent at work!).

Decent lamb is almost impossible to find in the United States. My husband never had a problem getting it when he lived in the UK.

Mary (snort), I think your lamb should be sacrificed for my sister's needs.

Solly, that's only worth a "groan."

Elayne, we get decent NZ lamb, but there's been a run on it or something.

Sue, thank you. That's where we used to buy it.

Neener, Sarah does brilliant work, doesn't she?

My email to you just bounced back, argh ... but Sam's Club in Pearl City has racks of lamb in stock right now (no chops, though), and the Schofield commissary will be getting their lamb shipment tomorrow, which they expect to contain legs, loin chops, but no racks.

I hope this helps -- if you'd need either of these things picked up, give me a call (I'm in the book).

Thanks, Sue. I found 'em! Now back to Safeway to find baking potatoes in smaller quantities than the 20-lb bag Costco wanted to sell me ;)

Yay! I was worrying about this on your behalf all afternoon until I could get back to the computer, which is a pretty sad reflection on how dull my life is. ;)

Just in general, the warehouse stores tend to have good meat.
