Making a list, checking it twice

Kids! My 17-year-old niece came over tonight to drop off some gifts she purchased at her grandmother's behest and suddenly (on December 21st, mind you!) we have a list of things for her and her sister that we hadn't even come close to thinking of. Good thing, too, or they might both have ended up with cubic zirconia or worse.

Remember when Cubic Zirconia first became popular...seems like it was far more expensive than now. Prices have dropped on it...but it does come close to resembling the real thing. But of course, "diamonds are still a girl's best friend"!

It's my opinion that almost all jewelry can be CZs, with the huge exception of particular pieces. The exceptions are engagement, wedding, and anniversary rings. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy wearing large CZs instead of smaller diamonds.

Kim, is your husband aware of this commendable open-mindedness? :)
