He wouldn't lie, would he?

I don't understand this. At the outset of the NSA surveillance hearings, Gonzales wasn't sworn in to testify under oath?

When Mr. Feingold pushed to have Mr. Gonzales sworn in, Mr. Specter called for a vote. The committee voted, 10 to 8, along party lines not to have Mr. Gonzales sworn in.

Mr. Gonzales was willing to be sworn in; I heard him say so several times. Should have taken him up on it.

Yeah, I wonder if Specter just got on his high horse and didn't want to be seen as acquiescing to Democrats.

how can you testify, and not be sworn in.
Does it have to do with "God" or something.
Maybe he didn't like the design of the bible cover...
