I think the only ones getting conned are the viewers. A friend of mine wondered how the Others can be living on a separate island, and yet have Ben be able to tell Ethan and the other guy to run to the crash sites and infiltrate the passengers.

I have to admit I only watched the very beginning, and the very end. The constant torture scenes are beginning to wear on me.

The Others don't live on a separate island. I think their little suburban neighborhood (the barracks referenced in The Pearl video), along with everything else up until this point, is on the "main island," not "Alcatraz."

And I think the reveal that what the Others wanted out of Jack all along may have been help for someone's spinal condition is significant. Seems a far more practical objective than more sinister possibilities so far speculated. It seems pretty clear that the Others will ultimately turn out to be not horribly bad (if not, as Ben asserts, the "good guys").

And my question is, was Jack's talent singled out post-crash during surveillance, or perhaps actually well before the crash? Juliet mentions a background in fertility, and we know Sarah may have had fertility issues. If Sarah was Juliet's patient as a doctor, and Juliet later found herself in a decimated DHARMA program needing a spinal surgeon, perhaps the lightbulb went off. "You know, this patient of mine had an ex-husband..."

Good thing the bunny heart attack was staged. After the frog got squished last season, I was thinking "LOST" would be next on PETA's wish list!

And for the Kate fans, this season's been a winner. Two out of four episodes so far feature gratuitious nudity! Ugh.

Not possible. We already know that the thing that brought the plane down was an accident - and that's supported by the surprise shared by "the others" when it came down. If the crash was an "on purpose", then it wasn't done by the others.

Which may lead you to think that "the others" are conning the passengers while being conned by someone further up the chain - substantiated by all the seemingly coincidental interactions of passengers with other passengers prior to the crash. Ironically, one of the passengers is a con (Kate) and one is a con-man (Sawyer).

Cons being conned by the conned... Hmmmm.

PS: Anyone else watch Deadwood? Why are all the hookers from Deadwood showing up on Lost? Is that a coincidence? I think not! LOL

I think it is time to cancel "Lost" and bring back a comedy series with Jason Alexander..
Yeah,...that's the ticket.
