Grammies

I wonder who was more pleased, Joan Baez at being asked to introduce the Dixie Chicks, or the Chicks that Baez would introduce them?

Update: I posted that right after their appearance opening the show. Little did I know what was in store for the song and the album later on down the road.

Have you found the answer to that question?

Meanwhile, I have my own Baez question for you... Name the science-fiction movie for which she did a song that was played during the opening credits.

I haven't a clue. Baez? SF? Wow.

Silent Running... Considering the subject matter, it's not surprising that Baez got involved in this early Seventies movie. It is about Earth's last forests, which are kept in domes hooked to spaceships. Then one day, they decide that the ships could be put to better use and order the forests destroyed. One ship though has a crewmember who, rather than letting that happen, kills the rest of the crew and escapes with his ship and its forests to the outskirts of the solar system.
