This was the recording of WWDTM that I personally attended in February. It was even funnier in person than it sounded, but Linda Ronstadt spoke so softly, both on stage and on the recording, that I'm going to have to download the podcast and put on the Etymotic in-ear headphones, so I can HEAR what she is saying! It astounds me that the owner of that big, belting singing voice has such a soft and inaudible speaking voice.

I envy you the opportunity to have attended.

I own nine Ronstadt albums. She had (has?) a fantastic voice. The photo spread Annie Leibovitz did of her for Rolling Stone was spectacular, too.

OMG when she sang "I'll call you back someday..." I almost had a wreck driving back from Home Depot!

Great voice. Age was not kind to her, true... but then it is rarely kind to any of us.

But back in the day? Hubba hubba.

She's gained weight due to an ongoing medical condition, apparently; it's not just a matter of letting herself go. And she can still sing beautifully.
