Oh, man...

From the AP:

SAN FRANCISCO -Army medical examiners were suspicious about the close proximity of the three bullet holes in Pat Tillman's forehead and tried without success to get authorities to investigate whether the former NFL player's death amounted to a crime, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

"The medical evidence did not match up with the, with the scenario as described," a doctor who examined Tillman's body after he was killed on the battlefield in Afghanistan in 2004 told investigators.

The doctors - whose names were blacked out - said that the bullet holes were so close together that it appeared the Army Ranger was cut down by an M-16 fired from a mere 10 yards or so away.

If the man was murdered by his own men, that would seem to be why the Bushies refused to give Congress documents about his death. It's a little hard to peddle a heroic story about a brave NFL player dying for his country if he was actually fragged by fellow soldiers.

Impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney. Impeach them now.

Amen.

They've been concocting hero stories from the get go...remember Jessica Lynch? What amazes me most is that all of this crap was so overlooked by those that supported them for so long. Until the cowboy starts having oral sex in the Oval Office, he's safe from impeachment.

I was going to invoke Jessica Lynch, too, but Karan beat me to the punch.

I also recently was reading a book about the history of modern warfare. From what the author wrote (and he was not at all writing about the Iraq war), Bush and Rumsfeld should have known from the beginning, based on lessons almost a hundred years old, that the strategy of sending in a (relatively) small force was bound to fail. But then, had the American people been told what it really would cost in terms of time, manpower and money, public reaction might have been different.

Just remember, impeach Cheney first.

Or at least simultaneously, Seth.
