Loess(er) is More

Frank Loesser had a wonderful career in theater and film. Anyone who's a fan of Broadway musicals knows his music, if not his name. Here's my iTunes collection of his songs:

  • Adelaide's Lament - Barbra Streisand; show - Guys and Dolls; album - The Broadway Album
  • I've Never Been In Love Before - Linda Ronstadt; show - Guys and Dolls; album - Hummin' To Myself (note: written for Guys and Dolls but was cut from the show)
  • I Believe In You - Robert Morse; show - How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; album - Best of Broadway
  • The Inch Worm - We Five; show - Hans Christian Andersen; album - Make Someone Happy
  • Luck Be A Lady - Robert Alda And The Guys; show - Guys and Dolls; album - Best Of Broadway
  • Never Will Marry - Linda Ronstadt; show - Greenwillow; album - Hummin' To Myself
  • Once In Love With Amy - Ray Bolger; show - Where's Charley?; album - Best Of Broadway
  • Standing On The Corner - John Henson, Roy Lazarus, Shorty Long, Alan Gilbert; show - Most Happy Fella; album - Best Of Broadway
  • A Woman In Love - Marlon Brando & Jean Simmons; show - Guys and Dolls; album - Best Of Broadway (note: this was written for the 1955 film; it did not appear in the original Broadway production)

Loesser died in 1969. He was only 59 years old.
