The worst thing about the Red Sox victory in the World Series from my perspective is that it will reinforce ESPN's view that there are only two teams in baseball worth covering.
My only question is how soon will the "Sox win!" story be overtaken by the "Alex Rodriguez sweepstakes!" story?

If the Sox pass over Lowell to go after him, I'd seriously consider turning in my lifetime membership in their fan club. I don't care what kind of gaudy numbers he puts up in the regular season, we don't need him. He's a LOSER.

Happily, part of that obsession will fade next year as the Yankees stumble to an 81-81 season. But the resulting focus on just a single team might be even harder to take than the current overwrought focus on two.

I wonder if ESPN would focus on different teams if it were located in, say, Kansas City, Missouri rather than Bristol, Connecticut.
