Just heard on The Splendid Table, Jane and Michael Stern extolling the virtues of the Anchor Bar in Superior, WI, which has "hand-formed" hamburgers.
Well, the ones I make are hand-formed too. So there!
My mind boggles at the idea of making hamburger patties with biscuit cutters or something.

I mean, I understand that many of their listeners will never have experienced some of these things, but I swear, it wouldn't surprise me if they did a whole show about how they've discovered this amazing delicacy in Podunk, MS called "pancakes" or how they're trying to track down a rumor they've heard about people in Pawhuska, OK eating pieces of cow.
