Veepstakes

The national press corps is composed of idiots. They have camped out on Senators Bayh and Biden's streets, hoping they'll divine something about Senator Obama's VP pick from watching those guys. On Washington Week this evening Dan Balz's Blackberry was placed prominently on the table in front of the panel (which was in Denver in front of a live audience) in anticipation of the famous Obama text message. I've gotten a "Breaking News" update from one of my local TV stations telling me that the AP reports it's Biden, and now the New York Times has run a multi-paragraph story saying it's Biden.

This after days of pundits telling us that vice-presidential picks are usually meaningless; the last one which was made to balance a ticket was JFK's pick of LBJ in 1960.

Um. If you think it's meaningless, why are you camping on prospective picks' lawns?

Idiots.

so much for his "change" platform.
I am filing an absentee ballot soon. I will be away for the elections. So I have a short amount of time to decide.... :^{

So it is Biden, no big surprise. I was hoping for something to really shake things up. But Biden has the foreign experience that Obama lacks--maybe it will translate into votes. Only time will tell.

The only good thing about all the hype is that whatever McCain has been spouting all week has gone the way of the wind (except of course his inability to say how many homes Cindy owns...oh wait, how many homes THEY own). But anything he may have said that might have been important was overrun by the speculation about Obama's choice. Good move on the part of the Obama camp.

And now back to your local news stations............;)

I think it was the best choice he could make, even though Biden's criticism of Obama's judgment on foreign policy during the primary campaign will surely resonate with the antis.

Just think, a VEEP as the strong one behind the scenes.......

In the primaries, I wanted Dodd first, then Biden and then Clinton.

Half a loaf is surely better than none.

The more I am listening and reading and checking, the happier I am! I confess other than his foreign policy experience, I really did not know a lot about him and I am ten times more comfortable with his pick today than I was yesterday. I had him on my short list for the presidential candidate, but after Hilary, Obama and Dodd.

Latest rumors are McCain will pick Romney. As a resident of the great state of MA, I can tell you a thing or two about our former governor. And then we will have two of the richest people in this country on the ticket. So much for the little guy.....

McCain's attack ads could backfire. Time will tell, but now at least Obama can get his message out and Biden can take on the attacks.

This will be interesting.........
