Everything's relative

Every time I hear Obama referred to as "young" I imagine several million people who voted for him, all aged 18-29, yelling "whaddya mean young? He's 47, fer Gawd's sake!"

More than a year older than Jack Kennedy was on the day he died (and almost four years older than JFK was on Inauguration Day).

Almost exactly a year older than Bill Clinton was on January 20, 1993.

Seven months older than Ulysses S. Grant was on March 4, 1869.

Obama will be the fifth-youngest American to be sworn in as POTUS, and only the third-youngest of the (about to be) 12 presidents in your lifetime and mine.

All true, but you and I are of an age. When I was 22 I couldn't imagine being 45 or 50!
