Oh, Joy

There's nothing quite like having your car's driver-side door lock break during Christmas season when you're in and out of it all day. It won't open from either the outside or the inside. I wonder how much this is gonna cost.

You can rip off the inside door panel and squirt graphite on the locking mechanism...but then the cost to replace your door might run a little bit more than you anticipate.

It won't open at all, so getting at it (even the panel, which is, I think, held in place only by friction) is difficult. The first auto lock repair place I called reminded me that they might have to go through the door panel from the outside to get at the lock. That sounds like a minimum of $500 if I'm lucky.
