Here We Come a-Wassailing

Some songs need harmonies. This is from The King's Singers 1990 album A Little Christmas Music. Despite what you may think you're hearing, there are only six voices.

They have also recorded my favorite piece of Renaissance music, Thomas Tallis' "Spem in Alium." That calls for forty vocal parts, either five eight-part choirs or eight five-part choirs, I forget which. I wonder how they arranged that one.

Kiri Te Kanawa-wow is that a voice out of the past...
I remember her singing a Cole Porter tune-her voice was much too much for the song.....
I guess one can have too much training for such things???
