Successful gift

Mom has been using a cut-down comforter for years and grumbling that it didn't cover her toes for some time. Well, you don't need to hit me over the head more than half-a-dozen times to get me to pay attention, so I went shopping for a replacement.

I found one. It was the right color, it was on a clearance sale so it cost 25% of the original price, and she loves it. Yay me.

What was your most successful/innovative/surprising gift?

Well, it is said by many scientists and scholars alike that Christmas was probably in April, something like the 14th or the 17th. Since I received my kidney in April, I do think that it was/is the most exciting and surprising gift I have ever/will ever receive!
Hubby gives me jewelry and gift certificates. He also gives me pop-up-books-I got one on Egyptian pyramids this year...I love the innovative way the pop ups are done!

We gave up on Christmas presents some time ago and give donations to charity instead, specifically a donation to the San Francisco Chronicle's "Season of Sharing", which uses the money to help local people out with things like back rent, repairing cars, etc. So we can sort of pick which of the stories the paper prints that we helped to pay for.

well, I probably should not admit it, but I bought Wii for my husband and my sons got him a ton of extra games. We have ALL been playing and playing and laughing and having a ball. And since it is snowing again and we might be housebound tonight, this is a good thing!! I have IOU's from my sons for the Wii Fit which was impossible to find before the holidays. I am going to end this now and go work on my tennis game...............LOL
