While watching the game yesterday my host and I figured it out: he's hosted a Super Bowl party for 16 of the last 17 years.
I've been to all of them, from the super-patriotic Super Bowl XXV in Tampa between the NY Giants and the Buffalo Bills (do you remember wide right?) to yesterday's game, also in Tampa.
We're in a rut.

Pictures of soldiers in Kuwait awaiting orders to attack. A pervasive sense that the Gulf War might actually be something worth doing, unlike the Bush 2 version.
