The Killer party

I remember being told I was pro-terrorist because I disagreed with the Bush/Cheney assertions that Saddam Hussein had something to do with the September 11 attacks.

Given all the howling the Republicans are doing about the torture memos, I think I'm going to tell them they're pro-torture.

The difference is that my disagreement has been proven to be sensible, while the Republican claims that America needs to reserve the right to torture can never be proven to be correct.

Yeah, I said a version of the same thing my first semester teaching in UT. (Something along the lines of ... "the administration has not sufficiently connected the dots for me ...") My students were speechless.

Then, the next class, I traced the US's role (at least in terms of money) in 9/11 (from the Iran hostage situation, to the '80s with our siding (funding) with Afghanistan against Russia, and on and on). My students were speechless. Again.

But, I hope I made them think.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with torture, but everything to do with the previous administration.
