Schadenfreude, football version

As a once-fan of the Redskins, I should have known this if only for the sheer joy of it: the Dallas Cowboys haven't won a playoff game in 13 years, so NBC tells me. In that time, the 'Skins have gone 2-3 in playoff games.

'Course, my allegiance switched to the 49ers in the 1980s, so what the Redskins have done hasn't been high on my radar since then. Nonetheless, the Cowboys have been objects of my derision ever since they started calling themselves "America's Team," so I guess I'll be rooting for the Eagles (Argh! Another NFC East team I should hate!) this afternoon.

I don't think the Cowboys started that. I think the news/sports media did.

Oh dear, dare I confess that I've been a Cowboys fan since Roger Staubach? Of course, I also used to root for the Rams until they moved to St Louis. (sigh) Somehow, I just haven't been able to get into this season's games. I'll just wait until they get to the Super Bowl and then pick a team. :-D

Grins. I was always torn about the Cowboys when they had Staubach since he was a Naval Academy graduate. I even saw an Army-Navy game when he played for Navy, probably the year after he won the Heisman.
