Getting closer to reasonable

No, no. Not the Republican Party as currently configured. What on earth are you thinking?

No, I'm talking about e-Book reader prices. NYT:

Barnes & Noble, the national bookseller, announced Monday it was dropping the price of its six-month-old Nook e-reader to $199 from $259 and introducing a new version of the device, which connects to the Internet only over Wi-Fi networks, for $149.

Responding rapidly, rival Amazon.com then cut the price of its popular Kindle e-reader below the Nook, to $189 from $259.

I spend most of the day reading from a screen, so in theory I wouldn't have any trouble with the Nook, the Kindle or the iPad, but the prices of the three gadgets have been way over my budget. They still are, but they're beginning to move in my direction. Good.

I've had a Nook since Christmas, and it's AWESOME. Way better than a Kindle in so many ways.

Hey, 1,000 lightyears is closer than 10,000. Still not within hailing distance.
