Gingrich revisited

I've seen several people say that this profile of Newt Gingrich is devastating, that he'll never be able to run for office again after this.

I don't believe it. The man has enormous staying power and an unquenchable ego. Add to that a complete lack of principles (hey, it's not just me saying that:

"I've known Newt now for thirty years almost," says former congressman Mickey Edwards. "But I wouldn't be able to describe what his real principles are. I never felt that he had any sort of a real compass about what he believed except for the pursuit of power.")
and I think he'll be able to persuade himself and more importantly a whole lot of Republican sheep that he's just the right guy to run for President.

Part of me, thought, is saying he's the only thing between us and Sarah Palin.
