Here's that US Religious Knowledge test

15 Questions about world religions.

I got all of them correct, but I admit that I got one wrong when it was quoted on network news the other night, so I knew better when I actually took the test this morning.

I just took it cold and aced it. I must be an atheist and not realize it. I actually thought I was just an educated person...

I originally (the other night) said the Sabbath started on Saturday. I must have been thinking of Lieberman not campaigning on that day when he was running in 2004.

Just shocked myself, actually had 12 out of 15 correct and I would have said I know nothing about religions of any kind!! The 3 I had wrong I guessed at--obviously. Had absolutely no clue on #15!!

100%, but I'm a bit of a ringer.

I got them all right too, but I guessed on #15.

14/15
I knew it wasn't Billy Graham for #15, but I basically flipped a coin between the other two and got it wrong.
I can't quite figure out why atheists were just below Jews for accuracy, but church attendance is directly, not conversely, related to accuracy.
Am I misunderstanding the results?

Did you read the full analysis?

I think atheists/agnostics score highly in part because they've had to make a choice to believe or not believe, so they've thought and studied more religious theory and history than those brought up in faith traditions who "take it on faith."

I imagine church attendance where your knowledge is continuously being reinforced by repetition might have something to do with the retention of the data.
