It's always something

My hard drive is spinning like crazy for no apparent reason. I've run Spybot and found a Trojan called Opachki.ru, which I got rid of after several passes with Spybot and McAfee. Now I'm defragging.

Why must this machine drive me crazy?

Why do machines drive us crazy? Because they can! ;-)

Computers are great when they're great - otherwise, not good at all.

Facebook seems to have eaten the comment I left there about Malwarebytes, so I'll repeat it here. Download their free anti-malware scanner and run it, and delete anything it tells you to. I'm serious - this thing is recommended by ALL the good geek sites and I've used it to remove really obnoxious trojans.
