Serial movie watching

What movie have you seen repeatedly? How often? In my case, it's probably It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, six times (I think). Here's a convenient link (hey, we aim to please!) to the Internet Movie Database for you to find that one you never tire of.

What I remember about "World" is the number of sight gags; from Durante "kicking the bucket" at the beginning of the film to the two black taxi drivers flying off the fire truck ladder and landing in Abraham Lincoln's lap at the end, I had to see it a number of times to learn what I'd missed in the previous viewings.

So how 'bout it?

Pulp Fiction, but only until the needle in the heart and the ketchup joke are over.
Fandango. I LOVE that movie. "D'yall drink beer?" "Well, yessir, on occasion."
Chasing Amy. Breakfast Club.

Oooh, and I almost forgot. Goodfellas. Love that truck shot in the club. Great flick!

The original Raiders of the Lost Ark. I probably saw it 100 times in the theater (friends worked in the theater, and I had no life...).

"The Verdict" starring Paul Newman, James Mason, and Charlotte Rampling...
One of Newman's best works, I think...

Star Wars (episodes 4, 5, 6). I'm on my THIRD set of videos. Lucas really needs to release them on DVD.

Strictly Ballroom, Branagh's version of Henry V, Amelie, The Hitcher, Ladyhawke, Casablanca, Sense and Sensibility, Brimstone and Treacle, and Raiders of the Lost Ark -- all movies I've seen at least 5 times (some more than a dozen times).

Brimstone and Treacle always makes my sister and me say "banana" and then giggle. While it was a disturbing idea, that scene always struck us as funny.

My most-watched movies? Star Wars Trilogy, Persuasion, Labyrinth, Strictly Ballroom, Nosferatu (either version), Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains, Bladerunner, Princess Bride, Once Were Warriors, probably others I'm forgetting.

Gone with the Wind (much of it by heart), Star Wars (original), Crossing Delancy ("But, Bubbe, please, I am not, I repeat not holding my breath"), Ocean's 11 (Clooney version), All about Eve, Arthur ("You must have hated that moose."), Fast Times at Ridgemont High ("Brad, are those roses really for me?"), Caddy Shack ("How 'bout a Fresca, Mr. Scholarship winner?"), Ghostbusters ...

OK. I'll stop there.

Wizard of Oz, Brigadoon, Star Wars, Young Frankenstein, Rocky Horror, Grease, An American in Paris, Harry Potter, LotR, Willy Wonka, and Princess Bride top my drop-everything-when-it-shows-repeatedly-on-TV list.

Let's see...Wizard of Oz...28 times. A Christmas Story...maybe 18 times?

The Lost Boys - 62 times.

The Breakfast Club - 75 times.

Star Wars - 50 times.

Actually, I eventually lost count on all the above, so it's probably even more than that!

Groundhog Day, Pretty Woman, A Fish Called Wanda, Tootsie, Best in Show, Harold and Maude, Philadelphia Story, and then there's Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte, Gaslight, and Psycho. I've seen 'em each over a dozen times and no end in sight.

Singing In the Rain, Mary Poppins, and uh....hold yer noses... Teletubbies. I think it shows I really need to get more.

Shari, you're excused due to incessant pressure of munchkins. ;)

Oh, gosh. The Big Lebowski. The Full Monty. Ghostbusters. Desperado. Halfbaked. Rio Bravo. The Limey. LotR. The first two Harry Potter flicks. The Nightmare Before Christmas. All the Kevin Smith movies EXCEPT Chasing Amy and Jersey Girl. Donnie Darko. All but the last I've seen easily two dozen times, and as someone else said, no end in sight. Donnie Darko would be right up there if I owned it, which I do not yet, but I've still seen it multiple times--four or five at least.

The movies I own, I rewatch a lot, but those up there I'm always willing to watch again. Also, of course, there are a ton of children's/family flicks I can recite in my sleep--Monsters Inc., both Toy Story movies, Finding Nemo, Ice Age, numerous Sesame Street DVDs, etc... etc... :)
