Turkey day tradition

My friend Kate at Cider Press Hill was poking around the internets and found...

Arlo Guthrie's Myspace Pages, where he's posted an 18-minute version of Alice's Restaurant.

Aloha!

Hope you weren't making a Pumpkin Spice souffle or anything today....it might have fallen.

Heard y'all had a little "jiggle" today. ;-)

Hope all is well.

Happy Thanksgiving.

So the USGS says, and my sister agrees. No one in this house felt a thing, but she called us to ask if we had.

I can always tell if we have a little temblor here in Shake n'Bake Country...it's the only time I get "sea sick"

Happy Thanksgiving, Linkmeister. Do you have lots of leftovers? I scored a turkey carcass and rather a lot of turkey meat. Lots of noshing for the next several days along with turkey stew. I guess it's not to soon too start thinking of food again already.... :\

We split the remainder, so we have only a couple of days worth. Except cranberry sauce. My sister loves the canned variety, so she opened one and then left most of it here. ;)

It was a disemboweled, stuffed Tofurky with potatoes and carrots in a veggie stock gravy. With sweet tators, green bean casserole, rolls, extra stuffing by me, shittake/crimini mushroom gravy by me, chocolate cream pie, mince-meat pie by me.

Reasonable time with my ex, very excited four year old - especialy when we played a few hands of old maid. Sugar high and borderline exhaustion caused some minor melting when he lost cards he was quite fond of - yet he managed to win 2/3.

I came home to several pounds of turkey, ham, stuffing, pie, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes etc. with a lot more coming tomorrow. We are going to invite some of the neighborhood homeless over for dinner tomorrow evening - hopefully it won't rain and we can keep it outside.

Thanks for posting that. I had the opportunity to play the original for my nephew yesterday as we were driving home for Thanksgiving dinner. Keeping the movement alive! :)
