Lost, Season 3, Episode 9

Entitled "Stranger in a Strange Land," the teaser says it's back to where they left off in Episode 7, with Jack performing surgery on Ben while Kate and Sawyer paddle to the "home" island.

Here's a link to Ryan's place again. He's already had a few comments from East Coasters who've seen it, even though it doesn't air here for another 1:15.

Update: Um, the promos said three big questions would be answered in this episode. I didn't catch any answers, unless 8-10 minutes of screen time on the origins of Jack's tattoos was one of them. What the hell was that all about?

Lost: Answers!

Viewer: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Ha!

One of these days I'm going to have to watch that movie. I got the DVD on sale for $10 a while back, but I haven't gotten around to seeing it. Somehow I missed it in theaters.

Important LOST tip: Ignore the promos. Those "THREE BIG QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED!" and "SOMEONE DIES!" pitches come from the bowels of ABC marketing, and more often than not wholly miss the mark and actually annoy the "LOST" crew. (Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse both pooh-pooh'd the "three answers" thing before this week's episode aired.) Believing the hype will only lead to heartbreak.

That said, this week's episode was a bit of a let-down after last week's Desmond not-quite-a-flashback. And next week's episode is said to be "on the lighter side," which could either go well (like some of the funny X-Files episodes) or be a disaster.

Still, it was fun to see the Fort Street/Chapin Lane set on screen. And the new islands next to Rabbit Island off Waimanalo. Ah, TV magic.
